He took his blessings for granted –

The ring of a call,

A warm cup of tea shared,

A simple text that brightened his day.

He chased after what felt bigger,

Underestimating the simple joys of life.

And then, one day, the silence fell.

No calls, no messages, no warmth across the table.

Only the echo of empty rooms.

And the ache of missing someone with whom he shared it all –

The same little things had been everything all along.
