The two giggling girls ran to their backyard where a sparrow had built a nest in the Rangoon creepers that clinged on to the old iron grill gate. They were excited to see the newly laid eggs in the nest.

The younger one climbed up the gate while the elder one directed her. In a while, the nest was in her hands and just as she was about to lay her hands on the eggs, mom yelled from behind, “Stop it. The sparrow will abandon the eggs if you touch them”.

The girls recoiled in horror while the mom caressed her hand on her protruding belly and heaved a sigh of relief.
